Third Consecutive World Cup win for the Aussies

Australia's record breaking players proved it to the world that they are the greatest one-day team in history by winning their third consecutive World Cup.A smashing knock of 149 from Adam Gilchrist which is the highest score in a final in the 32-year history of the World Cup lifted Australia to a 53-run victory over Srilanka.Australia has now won 23 World Cup matches in succession,stretching back to the tied 1999 semi-final against South Africa at Edgbaston.
"We've dominated this tournament probably like no other cricket World Cup has been dominated before,"said Ponting.
Adam Gilchrist was declared man of the match and McGrath who played his last international match was declared outstanding player of the tounament.
